I love the rain. I love the smell, the sound, the feel. It’s so great to get out in it, but so great to be cozy inside, too. I only wish it were a leeeetle bit colder. Southern California rain is only kinda fun because it is still fairly warm and I get too hot with my cold weather clothes on.

Rainy days, especially in Autumn, make me want to COOK! Yesterday Ryder and I whipped up a batch of chocolate chip cookies. I am still looking for the ULTIMATE CCC and I think I may have found it. The only problem is that the dough is supposed to sit in the fridge for 6 hours. 6 HOURS! Try explaining that one to a 3-year-old. SO, I did not let the dough sit, just stuck it right in the oven immediately. And the cookies were G-O-O-D. I put some dough in the fridge, just to see if I could tell the difference. I’ll bake those tonight and let you know.

I also whipped up a little chicken and spinach casserole that I just ate for lunch. Pretty good, but I need to work with the seasoning. Tonight will be homemade chili and corn bread. I’ll be sure to take pictures and post tomorrow. For now, I need to get back to The Incredibles and my cozy little house…trying to convince the hubby that we need the fireplace on, even if all the doors and windows are open!
